What kind of wax do we use?

Not only do we rock hard wax exclusively, but we also take pride in the top-notch quality of our products. Our hard wax is fragrance-free, dye-free, clear as crystal, vegan-friendly, and fully synthetic. Oh, and did we mention it contains only four ingredients? We're all about keeping things simple and irritation-free, so you can kick back and enjoy a waxing experience that's as comfy as a cloud.

How can you prepare for a wax?

Leading up to the big day, exfoliate like it's your full-time job and keep your skin hydrated. If you're a newbie in the waxing realm, pop two Ibuprofen to ease any potential discomfort. Feeling a bit jittery? Fear not! We've got adult beverages in our lobby to help you unwind (because who doesn't want a drink before getting hair ripped off?). Remember, caffeine is a no-go on waxing day, and let's be real, attempting a wax with a hangover is a recipe for disaster. So, be kind to your body and plan your appointment wisely.

How long does the hair need to be?

To ensure your waxing experience is a breeze, we kindly ask that the hair be at least as long as a grain of rice. But hey, if you want to bring us Rapunzel vibes and let that hair grow wild and free, we won't complain! No need to fuss about trimming beforehand; we'll handle it with finesse.

Can you receive a wax on your period?

There is nothing about menstruation that interferes with the waxing process. There is no need to apologize, its natural! You don’t even need to let us know.  We just ask that you wear a tampon or a cup during a Brazilian service. However, be aware that you are much more sensitive during your period. If you haven't yet mastered the art of the Brazilian wax, we recommend holding off for an extra week.

Can I wax on my medication?

Certain medications have a sneaky way of accelerating your skin's exfoliation process, which means waxing could potentially turn into a scabbing extravaganza. Now, that's not a sight we want to see, trust us! So, here's the deal: if you're currently using or planning to use any of these exfoliating medications, we absolutely need to know. If you happen to be on the mighty Accutane, we kindly ask you to steer clear of all waxing activities. In fact, give it a minimum of six months after you're done with the medication before even thinking about it. If in doubt, don't hesitate to consult your dermatologist for wise advice.

What if you are going through a gender transition?

We take pride in providing waxing services for ALL bodies. Our service arrangements are based on genitalia, rather than gender, ensuring that everyone feels welcome and respected. So, regardless of where you are in your transition, we encourage you to book the service that aligns with your specific needs. Rest assured, our pricing remains consistent for all bodies because inclusivity and equality are at the core of what we do.

Do I need to disclose my gender to receive a wax?

Not at all! We understand that your gender identity is personal and should never be reduced to a mere checkbox. When it comes to receiving a wax, there's no need for you to disclose your gender. Our service labeling by genitalia is simply to ensure that our estheticians are trained properly to provide the best care for you.

Can you get waxed while you’re pregnant?

You betchya! We're all about making your pregnancy journey as smooth as can be. However, it's always a good idea to double-check with your healthcare provider, just to be on the safe side.

Tanning before and after waxing

Important reminders: Say no to waxing if you have a sunburn; it can lead to skin lifting. After a wax, wait around 3 days before sunbathing as waxed skin is more prone to burning. For a flawless spray tan, wait at least 24 hours after waxing.

Will my wax cost more if I have a bigger body?

Absolutely not! In addition to our commitment to fair pricing, we pride ourselves on providing effective care to individuals of all sizes. That's why we have implemented universal protocols and treatment tables to ensure that every person receives the highest level of comfort and quality during their waxing session.

Is your staff equipped to provide support for clients who have experienced past trauma?

We take great pride in fostering a trauma-informed space at our studio. We understand that individuals may have unique needs and experiences, and we are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for all. If you have specific concerns or require extra care due to past trauma, we encourage you to reach out to us in advance.

How long do I have to wait before having sex, going to the pool, exercising or going to the beach?

The list is different for everyone! Your pores will be open for 12-24 hours after waxing. Salt from sweat can cause irritation. Your pores are more susceptible to bacteria than normal. Activities that introduce bacteria can cause red bumps and in some extreme cases, infection. A good rule of thumb would be to wait 24 hours before any strenuous activity.

Armed with this knowledge and agency over your body, we trust you with your decision.

How often should I be coming in?

We glorify body hair, so timing depends on your personal needs, goals, and preferences.

To experience all the benefits of waxing including hair refinement and less pain, come in when your hair is 1/8” or the length of a grain of rice. (waist DOWN we recommend 3-6 weeks, waist UP 1-4 weeks)
